The shot we see of the twins leaving is the same shot we see of the water tower in the intro. Every episode, we came and left Gravity Falls, and we grew up a little bit more in between. But we always came back in time for a new episode. We always came back, “see you next summer” is what our friends wrote to Dipper in the letter. And we will see them, every time we rewatch and revisit our summer escape. This is it, the one final code to solve. Gravity Falls is not gone, it will always be there for us to return to.

2015 has been the goal year for me for a while. It was the culmination of several years of hard work and rapid climbing, so to see it come to fruition was…well, frankly, terrifying. And amazing, of course. And heartbreaking. And exhilarating.
